Coconut oil: for Hair, Skin and Food

Coconut oil contains medium chain fatty acids, including lauric acid, which are metabolized differently. They can reduce your appetite and fight the bad bacteria. It also contains saturated fat, which raises the good cholesterol and keeps your heart healthy. At the shop, always look for the pure virgin coconut oil.

Beside the health benefits, coconut oil does other wonders. Read the next text to find out more.

Damaged hair

If you color your hair, or use to much the hairdryer, repair your hair with coconut oil. Use a teaspoon to rub the dry ends or the whole hair and wait for 30 minutes. Then, wash out with shampoo.

If you have dry scalp, or even oily hair with dandruff, rub coconut oil on your scalp and leave it about 30 minutes. Wash out with gentle shampoo.

Coconut oil is perfect for dry lips. Winter is coming, so be prepared! Put a small amount of coconut oil in a small empty plastic box from lip butter, and use it instead of lip balms. Make sure the box is well closed, because the coconut oil becomes liquid on higher temperatures.

Face and Body

As on your hair, you can use it as a face mask, to make your skin softer. It can also help reduce acne because of its antibacterial properties, and reduces wrinkles.

Forget harsh make-up removers. Dab a cotton ball or Q-tip with coconut oil and wipe your make-up away. It removes waterproof mascara too!

It makes the skin elastic, so is perfect for pregnant women to reduce the stretch marks. Apply coconut oil on the stomach, the breasts, and other parts where you usually build up fat. It will help your skin stretch gently and back to normal later.

Coconut oil is great sunburn soother. Treat your sunburns with generous amount of coconut oil to moisturize the skin and reduce peeling.

If you like to cook healthy, use coconut oil to cook your vegetables, eggs or turkey. Use coconut oil when making cookies for perfect taste. Add one tablespoon to your smoothie as energy booster!
